About the course

To ensure that they understand what to do, students will first watch a demonstration of how to use equipment, mix plaster, and prepare walls. Each individual will have an own bay to work in. The opportunity to work on their own bays at their own pace will thereafter be given to the students.

Anyone who is serious about beginning a plastering course right away has a challenging learning curve. However, Skills Training Group is the best place to start if you want to “shortcut” the procedure and avoid the months or even years of trial and error that most individuals experience.

Our courses emphasise hands-on learning, with teachers first explaining and demonstrating tools and equipment. Since all of the courses are hands-on, expect to get messy! Therefore, you should pack some proper clothing.

The tools, supplies, and safety gear you will need while you are here will all be provided by us. Every student must also wear protective gear, such as boots that you don’t mind getting dirty.

Why pick us?

When you first start plastering, you’ll run across several challenging issues. One or two poor preparatory procedures can entirely sabotage an otherwise excellent job. But if you know what crucial errors to avoid, a marginal issue can be swiftly and simply fixed.

We’ll lead you through our tiered training approach and demonstrate how to do the duties in a way that immediately improves your tradesperson effectiveness and gives you more control over your chosen specialty.

Why Do People Take This Plastering Course?

People sign up for our plastering course for all kinds of reasons — and each one is as valuable as the next. For some, it’s about taking control of DIY projects around the home. Maybe it’s fixing up walls after removing old wallpaper, or finally tackling that cracked ceiling that’s been driving them mad. For others, it’s about renovating a property — whether it’s a personal home makeover or the first step in a larger home improvement venture.

We also get plenty of people who come just for the fun and challenge of learning a new, hands-on skill. There’s something deeply satisfying about mastering the smooth curve of a skimmed wall or the precision of a corner bead.

Whatever the reason, our course provides a practical, confidence-boosting environment where you can learn, make mistakes, and improve — all while supported by expert instructors and your own dedicated training bay. Whether you want to save money, make money, or just enjoy the process, this course is your starting point.

5⭐️ five day plastering course

Great five days with Jim learning to plaster. Starting as a complete beginner, I definitely feel confined to do plastering work on my house and for friends. Excellent teaching by Jim and lots of time to practice. Highly recommended.

5-Day Plastering Course

I completed the 5-day plastering course, and loved every minute of it! The atmosphere was relaxed and supportive, making it an enjoyable learning experience. Jim was brilliant at sharing his wealth of plastering knowledge—clear, patient, and always willing to help. Ample time during course for hands-on practice time, which really helped build my confidence. I’m now excited to get started on my list of DIY projects around the house. If you're considering learning plastering, I highly recommend this course!

5 Day DIY Plastering Course

Excellent DIY Plastering course, I can't recommend it highly enough for anyone looking to tackle plastering work at home or for those looking to gain extra trade skills. This course won't transform you into a time served professional plasterer within 5 days, but gives you the knowledge and the confidence to go from zero plastering experience, to creating a flawless plastered finish on walls and ceilings within an incredibly short period of time. We had absolutely plenty of time practicing plastering, and there is no scrimping and saving on materials, all tooling was in good order and well maintained Our instructor Jim gave each student plenty of one to one guidance as well as his group teaching and it was always clear what our task was, each day felt well structured. Jim would set us various challenges based on our skill levels throughout the week, I found myself learning to plaster around "double sockets" and filling in cable chases which will come in extremely useful. Unbeatable value for money and I hope to be back for another course with this company.

Great course

Went on a 5 day plastering course. Aiming to do some DIY around the house. Really pleased with the results and raring to get some practice in at home. The instructor, Jim, was very knowledgeable, approachable and patient. I am at DIY level but some of the others were producing great work. Definitely worth the money.
