A commercial gas engineer performs various tasks related to the operation and maintenance of natural gas pipelines and compressor stations. Their main responsibilities include installation, design, construction, inspection, testing, repair, and management of gas facilities. They also ensure the safety and compliance of these facilities with regulations and standards. This involves measurement and control of gas flow, as well as cost analysis, estimation, project management, and survey of the land where the facilities are located. The engineer may also be involved in the testing and repair of gas equipment and systems, as well as the design and implementation of new projects.
A commercial ACS course is a certification program for gas engineers. The course provides candidates with the necessary information and assessments to meet the requirements set by the ACS (Assessment and Certification Scheme). The course typically covers various aspects of gas installations and provides candidates with a certificate upon successful completion.
Upon completion, candidates should have a good understanding of the requirements and regulations involved in commercial gas engineering, as well as the practical skills and knowledge needed to work in the field & in order to work under Gas Safe.
