The Edinburgh first aid training courses offered by Skills Training Group are accredited by the FAIB, so your employees will leave with an officially recognised qualification (either EFAW or FAW, depending on the requirements of your business). Our aim is to make the process as easy as possible for you by delivering the courses on-site at your business premises if needed. In addition, we only employ highly experienced trainers, guaranteeing that your staff will receive high-quality training and complete the course with all of the knowledge that they need.
In most circumstances, first-aid certificates are valid for three years before they must be renewed; however, the HSE recommends that you take a refresher course once a year.
When you complete your first aid at work training course or an emergency first aid at work course, you’ll be given a certificate that is valid for three years. To obtain a new first aid at work certificate, you must take a two-day refresher course. This refresher needs to be completed within 28 days of the expiration date on your previous certificate.
For an emergency first aid at work certificate, you’ll complete the same course again to renew your qualification.
There are other variations of first-aid certification that have different expiration and renewal requirements. A paediatric first aid certificate, for example, may be renewed every three years; but an AED defibrillator certificate will only be valid for one year before you must take a refresher course to renew it.
